     Ahmedabad is the largest city and former capital of Gujarat. It is the fifth most populous city in Gujarat. It is also known as BOSTON OF INDIA and MANCHESTER OF INDIA. • Sabarmati Ashram

      

One of the most historic places in Ahmedabad, Sabarmati Ashram also known as Gandhi Ashram and Mahatma Gandhi's house is located in the Sabarmati suburb of Ahmedabad. It is the place where Gandhiji lived for twelve years with his wife Kasturba. One of the national movement Dandi March was started from Gandhi Ashram.

In this Ashram the places which you can explore are :

PAINTING GALLERY : In this you can see eight paintings depicting Gandhi in various poses of his various activities like marching, spinning cloth, meditating etc.

NANDINI : The Guest House of the Ashram

SOMNATH CHATTRALAYA : A group of rooms currently occupied by the ashram to share the ashram life to the visitors.

MAGAN NIWAS : It is the place where you can see the beautiful designs of charkhas.

UDYOG MANDIR : A 'Temple of Industry', which symbolize self reliance and dignity of labour. 

UPASANA MANDIR : The place where the ashram members listen to the bhajans and the readings from Gita, Quran and Bible.

GANDHI IN AHMEDABAD : The art gallery which describes the life of Gandhiji from 1915 to 1930.

MY LIFE IS MY MESSAGE : There are paintings and photographs which changed the life of Gandhiji and the History of India.

• Narendra Modi Stadium

Now we are moving to another beautiful destination named Narendra Modi stadium. It is the largest cricket stadium in the world with a seating capacity of 1,10,000. 

In this stadium, you can see different amenities like a club house with 55 rooms, restaurants, indoor and outdoor games, gymnasium, party hall, 3D projector theatre and olympic sized swimming pool. It has 75 AC corporate boxes and in each stand there is a great facility of food courts and hospitality area. The stadium includes pavilions and high tech media box in addition to a field of play with LED lights which is the first ever in any stadium.

On 24th February 2020, the event Namaste Trump was organized at this stadium. It was the venue which hosted the honourable US president Donald Trump and the respectable Indian PM Narendra Modi for inauguration of Motera.

• Kankaria Lake

We are going to visit the most popular and largest lake of Ahmedabad. Kankaria lake has many beautiful places in it like zoo, kids city, balloon ride, toy train, entertainment facilities, water parks, water rides, food stalls and vendors.

NAGINA WADI : Nagina Wadi is a type of island in the Kankaria. The way to Nagina Wadi is full of trees on both the sides. If you visit the Nagina Wadi at night you will see a musical fountain with multicolored laser lights. 

Kankaria carnival is a festival of Kankaria which helds for a week long in December. The whole lake is decorated with laser lights and colourful fountains. It is the best place to spend the weekend with family.

• Adalaj Stepwell 

Adalaj Stepwell is a beautiful and attractive structure as it is 5 storeyed high stepwell. By standing on its fifth floor you can watch the turquoise water ( blue to green ) of the well which is such a pretty experience you have ever witnessed.

The stepwell is almost filled with astonishing carvings and sculptures. There are three types of entrance stairs as it is unique in itself. The fifth story is the place where you can feel refuge as it is built in such a way that is away from sunlight. On each floor, there are such many rooms that a traveler can spend there night.
