JAISALMER


Jaisalmer is such a beautiful and historic place and known as GOLDEN CITY OF INDIA. There are many heritage places which are worth seeing. Jaisalmer is also known for its forts which are all around the city.

GOLDEN CITY : JAISALMER

1. JAISALMER FORT


Jaisalmer Fort is one of the largest forts in the world. As it is located on golden stretches of Thar desert, it is also known as ' GOLDEN FORT ' or  ' सोनार किला '. It is also bejeweled with many of the attractions inside which increase the beauty of the fort such as Raj Mahal, Gateways etc.


Over many centuries, this fort has witnessed many wars which increases the glory of this fort. If you want to know about heritage, you must visit this place in Jaisalmer.

2. THE THAR HERITAGE MUSEUM


If you are fond of antique and unique things, then you should visit this place as it is too much special. It contains musical instrument, fossils, antiques and many more. You'll also get the whole information of the different things in the museum if you will take a visit. It is one of the best place to visit in the GOLDEN CITY : JAISALMER. 

3. SAM SAND DUNES


If you are visiting at Jaisalmer, then this should be the first place to visit in the list. There are also desert camps where you can rest for some time. The sunrise and sunset scenes are very exotic. You can also enjoy many rides such as sunrise camel ride or sunset camel ride, Jeep Safari, Half day Thar desert safari and Quad biking

4. PATWON KI HAVELI


It is a great historic place located on an open street of Jaisalmer which indicates the great heritage on the streets. It is a ONE haveli which is a combination of FIVE havelis. There is museum inside the haveli where one can witness different artifacts, paintings, furnitures, sculptors etc. It also contains an office of archaeological survey inside it. It is also known for the residence of silver and gold merchants. 

5. DESERT NATIONAL PARK




The Desert National Park is place where you can have a great experience to discover the different species of flora and fauna. It is one of the largest national parks in India. You can witness different animals like wolf, desert cat, fox etc. You can experience a great scenario of nature at morning when you can hear different sounds of birds and can witness migratory birds. The major attraction of Desert National Park is Great Indian Bustard.

6. GADISAR LAKE



Are you searching for a place having peace and away from the chaotic world, where you can enjoy the nature ? Then this lake is that you are finding. The lake away from the city will provide you some scenarios that will make you stress-free. Many migratory and exotic species of birds can be seen during winter. The best place in Jaisalmer for the photographers, birders and twitchers. 


7. BADA BAGH


Jaisalmer is full of deserts, and if you are now bored by visiting just deserts, then now lets go to a garden. An artificial dam was constructed to provide water to the garden. The Govardhan Stambh or Govardhan Pillar which was constructed in the celebration of dam is the main attraction in Bada Bagh. You can also visit  the historical tombstones in the garden. This is one of the best gardens where you can find heritage, greenery and many more. 

8. NATHMAL - KI - HAVELI


The best place in Jaisalmer to know about heritage and history. It has astonishing exterior with beautiful carvings. There are many remarkable paintings which were made by using 1.5 kg of gold leaf. The pillars are engraved with pictures and walls contain horses, portraits of flora and many more. The most fascinating thing about the museum is modern sources which attracts thousands of people every year and also the biggest attraction of the haveli. 

9. MANAK CHOWK


The Manak Chowk, situated just outside the Golden Fort is one of the best places to witness the artistic skills of Rajasthani. One can find amazing crafts and exotic architecture of Rajasthani. If you are a shopaholic, then Manak Chowk is the best place to visit as you can find silver, golden jewellery, craft ornaments etc there. There are many legacy buildings which increases the fame of Manak Chowk.




10. WYRA


Wyra is a rooftop restaurant where one can experience the night scenario along with the luxuries of the restaurant. You can view the moon rising, when it rises from the behind of the Jaisalmer Fort having some delightful meals. Wyra is most famous for the barbeque food which increases the joy of the scenario. If you want to have some drinks with your meal, then it also provides the amenities of the bar. 

11. SALIM SINGH KI HAVELI


Salim Singh ki Haveli is a major tourist attraction in Jaisalmer. The architecture of Salim Singh ki Haveli is very attractive and artistic as the roof is based on the peacock's physical form. You can see some high hills in the background which increases the enjoyment of the visit to Salim Singh ki Haveli. The gateways of this building are bounded by tuskers which are seen to be realistic.

12. KHABA FORT 


The another mysterious place in Jaisalmer is this Khaba Fort. If you want to have some peace away from the noisy world, then hete you can witness a unwind and relaxing experience. This is the another place where the photographers can capture some amazing photographs. The museum inside Khaba Fort consists of some antiquities which increases the popularity of the Fort.





We have ended the trip of the GOLDEN CITY, THE JAISALMER. Jaisalmer being a desert is a great place to visit. Now we will meet with another exclusive and interesting place.
